Another one of the fabulous ladies on the TLC Design Team....

"Hello, here Hetty from The Netherlands!

This is the 3^rd period in the Design Team and I love using

the digital images and see what I can do with them.

As an arts-and-craft teacher I am always looking for something

new and I love to share it and show others how to do it too.

I scrapbook, make cards, all kinds of art and just love

doing all kinds of techniques and the internet is such a

wonderful addition.

With a new year on the way, as well as my first grandchild,

I think this is going to be a great and wonderful year.

New Design Team.....

I have notified the new members of the team, and have notified all that applied.......thank you again to everyone that did apply.....I appreciate your interest.....unfortunately there were only a couple of positions open this time around, and lots of applications....

I would like to tell those of you that do apply for design team positions anyplace....to make sure you follow the directions for applying......I eliminated a bunch just for that reason.  Sorry....but I feel that you should know for future applications to other designers also.

I used Decal Waterslide Paper for the project....love that stuff.

First Foot Day..

The custom of firstfooting, or being the first to cross the threshold of a home in the early hours of New Year's Day, was so popular in England and Scotland during the 19th century that the streets were often more crowded between midnight and one o'clock in the morning than they would normally be at midday.  If the "First Foot," traditionally a man, was to bring the family luck, he had to arrive with his arms full of cakes, bread, and cheese for everyone to share. 

He should be dark-haired, not fair, and must not have flat feet.
Today the custom may still be observed in Britain and in scattered areas of the United States.
