  4. When I was in high school I tried the baby food diet. Not only was it the most disgusting thing I've tried, it didnt last very long! Pureed beef? I think not!

  5. The Mayo Diet I had to eat so many eggs and spinach that I needed to keep a hen and it put me off spinach for years!!!

  6. I think any diet is a fad diet! :D But, I really do need to try something. I think I'll go with the Sea Food Diet.

  7. The Cambridge diet. It was this powder drink mix from the 80's. Gag me, so to make it palatable, my mom would add peanut butter, or ice cream, lmbo. Oh yeah and slim fast, not a fad diet you say, hmm, maybe not but still crazy. Before the snack bars and such came out, it was just two shakes a day a sensible meal. I did it for a week, basically a starvation diet. I ended up losing 10 lbs, yeah, but then I started throwing up every time I drank the stuff. No thank you.

  9. Over-the-counter diet pills. Lost some weight and A LOT of sleep then the body crashed hard, it wasn't worth it. Paulette, the blog looks fantastic! Absolutely gorgeous!

BTW, I adore the See-Food diet, I'm a much happier person!!! LOL!

  10. I did a cabbage soup diet, the only thing you could eat was that cabbage soup all day long for 14 days, I barely made it to day 1...

  11. I have never been on a diet...But I have heard about:The Banana diet...

  12. I have never done it - but I have a friend who swears by the "Green Beans" diet to drop some weight in a hurry. It is exactly what it says - you eat nothing but green beans.

  17. Over the years I have been on many a diet - and I finally realized that none of them really work and many of them are really crazy. Change of life style is the only way to go.

  18. I'm not big on diets but one year in high school, trying to be thin, I ate a hard-boiled egg, carrot sticks and a cup of beef bouillon for lunch each day. The things we'll do to be thin! LOL!

  19. Ha ha Viv, that's funny! I don't do diets since I enjoy food to much. The craziest I have heard of is the one where people get surgery to reduce their stomach size.
Thank you for your freebies. They often inspire me to create a new card :)

  21. When I was in University I tried fasting one day a week as a way to save calories and money. Not so strangely, the fasting diet ended the day I got a job working in a restaurant.

  22. I've been on so many diets off and on over the years... But none of them were diets that you could stay on forever and got sick of really fast. The craziest one was the grapefruit diet. I'm not of fan of grapefruit especially without sugar but I gagged down grapefruit and dry toast for a week.... Ewwww...

  23. Craziest diet ever......when I was just out of nursing school, one of the nurses I worked with and I ate a hard boiled egg and 1/2 can (one bowl) of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup every day for a week......Then, a patient gave us a box of candy.....diet over! LOL

  24. In the 70's I went on a 'shot diet'. I got a shot every day. They said it was "horse urine". Can you say "EEEEEWWWW". LOL

I only had a new pounds to lose (nothing like now....LOL). Oh the things we do. LOL

  25. I, too, did the cabbage soup diet, and I tried one where you only ate egg whites for breakfast and chicken breast for lunch and not much else for dinner. Absolutely horrible!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think the worst thing I ever did was restricting my calorie intake too much.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think I tried the cabbage soup diet for about two days. YUCK! Also, your blog layout is gorgeous!

  28. The Grapefruit diet! LOL that was crazy ... you drink grapefruit juice along with daily vitamins of all sorts, eat grapefruit for breakfast (a half) along with 1 piece of whole wheat bread, for lunch grapefruit juice with a salad w/low fat salad dressing w/ grilled chicken or green salad. For dinner a light dinner and a grapefruit with the last of vitamins. its crazy! it's a lot of pill and a lot of grapfruit! I still can't eat grapefruit lol

  29. We had a thing here in Australia in the 80's called Limits - basically these "special" biscuits were in place of meals. Being a bigger girl in school at lunch the teachers were concerned when I had 3 cream biscuits for lunch - until it was explained I was recommended them by a dietician lol

  30. I've given up my fix of tubs of white hot chocolate each week, so that I can afford my digis!! Does that count as a diet??!! :) :) :) It's not a fad though - my digis are too important!hehe.xx

  31. Can't think of anything really crazy or fad. Starvation! Never worked. The old body said *HEY I don't like this. *

  32. Some awful thing that involved eating cottage cheese and beets! Ugg... Talk about taking the joy out of food! ROTFL

  33. Actually, being a type 1 diabetic, I have been subjected to MANY diets over the years. Early on, they fed us LOTS of carbs - then it was mucho greens, then hig fat foods - UGH!! No wonder I was all over the place - with my weight & my blood glucose!

I am on a pump now and I count my carbs - 150 daily - then I stop. I usually eat less than that, as my body loves to turn it into fat fast.

    D =)

  34. I've probably tried almost all of them down through the years. I lost best on the 1980's version of the Atkins Diet but, of course, when I went back to my normal diet, I gained (or I had another baby! ;)).

Thanks for this wonderful vintage digi!

  38. My best friend and I had no money so we would take crackers and put ketchup from the little packets and a quarter of a piece of cheese and make the grossest pizza ever lol. Love the freebie it reminds me of our floodwall in Paducah Ky, it has paintings on every huge panel of historic scenes from Paducah.
