What do the people of China burn on New Years Eve?

Answer....They burn crackers to scare the evil spirits that roam the earth. (Now that probably is firecrackers....but I am hungry, and I thought saltines....LOL)

    I think I've heard where they burn "money". Boy that puts a new spin on money "burning a hole in your pocket". LOL

    At Chinese New Year they burn money and other fake valuables.
    On New Year's Eve they burn incense.

    On the Chinese New Year, or the Western New Year? Chinese New Year, they burn incense. Western new Year, they burn money!

    I hope it's fireworks,may-be they only burn U.S. money it's not worth much more than the paper it's written on.

    They actually do burn money as well! DD lived in China for about 1.5 years, and spent the new year there, and was amazed at the money burning...
