Tuesday Freebie....
Today is also....
Natl Fruitcake Day
I love fruitcake, if it is made properly....some of them can be so yummy.....or they can be bricks...lol.....
Definitely some people or things I could use this sentiment with. LOL But I do love fruitcake too thanks to my parents who always had us eat it as children. :)
Paulette, I love this and it is perfect for the card I am going to send out. Thank you bunches and bunches . I love opening my mail and seeing your posts. We are on a very limited budget because we are itinerant ministers but every time I open your e-mails it makes me smile . Thank you bunches and may 2012 be the best year you have ever ever ever had. hugs Cathy k
Fab sentiment Paulette - thank you. Here in the UK we have fruit cake at Christmas with marzipan, icing and decorations. I've got a really good recipe which I use every year and it's foolproof ... well, it must be if I manage it, LOL! To me, the secret of a good fruitcake is to stir some cognac into the fruit and to let it plump up overnight before making and baking. Then, "feed" the made cake every couple of weeks (more cognac!) whilst it rests in a cake tin prior to icing! Yummy!!! :O) Helen x
Thanks for the sentiment, Paulette! Fruitcake reminds me of my paternal grandmother. She used to mail each of us a fruitcake every year at Christmas, but none of us really cared that much for it. :-) Maybe someone needed to follow Helen's recipe! LOL
Thanks for the great sentiment Paulette. I like fruitcake if it's made well. Haven't been able to find one recently, maybe I'll have to make one. :) Made my first gingerbread cookies this year (first gingerbread anything) so who knows what next year will bring! Hope it brings good things for you and thanks for your generosity. :)
