Come on....tell the truth...........what is the worst gift you have ever "re-gifted" ?

  1. I don't think I have ever re-gifted ... honestly!

  2. Honestly, we didn't re-gift this one, but last Christmas we gave my other half's Brother-in-Law a gift box of mini aftershaves. This same box arrived back at our house in March for my other half's Birthday! This would be quite nice ... if it wasn't for the fact that my other half sports a beard, and has done since 1994!!!!!!!
Won't have these problems this time round - his sister has decided that we'll only give presents to the kids (they have 4, we have 2!). Wonder what our girls will get?
Happy Christmas to you Paulette, Bri and to everyone else who inspires me here with their comments and creations.

  6. I was 25 years old and my ex-sister-in-law purchased me "Where's Waldo" figurines. They ended up being gifts for the little girls I use to babysit for.

  7. There are 23 of us that have birthdays in Jan so about 7 years ago we started a re-gifting party. Each person brings a potluck dish, and the ugliest' unsuited for them' gift and we have a gift exchange. It's hilarious the things we have seen by well meaning relatives. Barnyard adorned sweaters (that were seriously un-cute), tacky jewlery, a snowman building kit (missing pieces but thankfully the sticker left on the bottom said 'clearance priecs', missing pieces) Oh I could go on!!

  8. DH and I decided not to re-gift anything when we got married 30 years ago. Why? Because one of our wedding gifts was a guest book with an entry in it to the couple who gave it to us.

Then several years ago I received a camping heater at my employer's Christmas party. The next year I asked my daughter if her husband would like it as they camp, we don't. She thought it was a great idea. After they got home, her husband remarked that I had gotten it the year before and if I wanted to regift the gift I had gotten that year (a drill and skillsaw) he would take it too. I was so embarrased. It's a good thing I wanted the drill and skillsaw.

By the way, I worked for a trucking company and they figured it was better that the two women (office) employees got gifts a male would like as getting two female gifts that ended up in the hands of a man. The gifts were assigned numbers and they drew the employee's name to decide who got what.

I will admit, my last year I got a flatscreen HD TV. It is in my craft room. :)
