My husband and I are headed to Kentucky Tuesday to spend a couple of days with my parents and visiting his siblings before everyone else arrives on Thanksgiving day. On Thanksgiving my oldest brother and his family will arrive, along with my best friend and her family to my parents. We are having ham and smoked turkey and all the trimmings and I cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a small gathering at my house for dinner and adding a few more for dessert. Happy Thanksiving to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm headed to my sister's house. My other siblings will come and go throughout the day and we'll laugh, play games and just enjoy each other's company. I will spend the following day sleeping in while others are out trampling over one another in hopes of getting a good deal. :-)

I'm like cgl1539... I'm heading for Kentucky on Tuesday also to be with my son and his family. We will have our own Thanksgiving dinner either Wed or Fri. On Thanksgiving day we'll be going to real good friends of ours for dinner. This Thanksgiving marks the 4th anniversary of my husband's death and I'm really looking forward, more than ever, to being with family and friends. Life is a blessing and life goes on... ENJOY it and be THANKFUL for it.
ReplyDeleteMy family is having their Thanksgiving on 11/21 & we are also celebrating my niece's 24th birthday that evening. For the in-laws we are having Thanksgiving lunch on Thanksgiving & probably watching movies the rest of the evening. Kind of dull but nice all the same to be with family. And the awesome food, of course=) Collette
ReplyDeleteFirst of all we will have a Thanksgiving service in church. Then our son and his lovely wife will eat dinner with us. They are bringing the herbed baked turkey and they are excellent cooks. And we will spend the day counting our MANY blessings.
ReplyDeleteWe go to my Cousins house to be with the whole family, about 50 of us. A real good time!!
ReplyDeleteThis year will be a quiet at-home Thanksgiving for my husband and me. We will have a houseful for Christmas, so having a quiet holiday is ok this year. That won't stop us from fixing a small turkey with most of the trimmings for dinner.
ReplyDeleteEveryone will be here for Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey with all the trimmings. Still do not have a head count. Probably about 16. (could be as many as 27 if brother showed,up with all the offspring!)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to my sister-in-law's house, a mile down the road. I figure there shouldn't be too much traffic! :)
ReplyDeleteMy youngest son and his family are driving from the Oregon coast to Portland, OR to spend Thanksgiving with my eldest son and his family. Having time with 3 of my 6 grands will be awesome!!
ReplyDeleteTake a week off from work as my kids are also off from school all week and just spend time loving them!!! Oh and the taking off part is easy - I teach at their school. What a blessing!!!
ReplyDeleteWe dont do Thanksgiving here in England I think it's a shame as there is so much we can be thanksfull of, like I'm thanksfull to you to give us all the gorgeous goodies.

We don't celebrate thanksgiving in England but I just enjoyed reading everyone's comments about how they were spending theirs! Hope you all have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteNot much, it's just the usual & football. We have no kids or close family in the area. We're also vegetarians, so we have "chik" patties & stuffing & a vegetable. We're having pumpkin whip pie for dessert, though. YUM!! Perhaps for Christmas, we'll do something special. It's hard with just 2 of us.
ReplyDeleteD :)

ReplyDeleteMy youngest son, dil, and two of my grandson's and I are supposed to leave tomorrow for my eldest son's home 3.5 hours for Thanksgiving. Looking outside right now, I'm not sure what's going to happen. We woke up to snow this morning!!!! We rarely get snow on the Oregon coast, but we've got it today. It's really early in the year to even get any. My son says we can do it, but I'm concerned, as snow levels will be higher where we're headed. So, our plans are in limbo!!
