This is great and the caption that goes with it. I iron every day. Not because I love it but because I hate it so much I can only bear to iron what I'm about to wear. I'd love to be a housewife though.....a modern one that is!
I remember when I was first married, I ironed everything until my mother-in-law set me straight - thank the lord for that. That is one job I hated doing! Thanks Paulette
Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in CBH Digital Scrapbooking Freebies, under the Page 9 post on Nov. 04, 2011. Thanks again.
Actually, I enjoy ironing--in moderation. Thankful that we no longer have to iron t-shirts and so many other things, though. Thanks, Paulette, for the great image and word art!
i used to love to iron! My mother taught me to iron and i did the ironing on her baking day. We had such good chats back then when i was learning to iron at age 7. Then, we'd have a tea party when the bread came out of the oven. Ironing is fused in my memory with good times with my mom - BTW - i have a little flat iron that belonged to my g-ma. People think it was a toy, but it isn't. A woman didn't have just one flat iron to do everything - the irons were a whole series of sizes and shapes for each type of ironing. There was even one that was crinkled to do the ruching on the bodices. i wish i had her whole set! Thank you for this bit of nostalgia - and for the stamped look autumnals! As usual, everything is perfect!
Oddly enough I LIKE to iron!

ReplyDeleteWonderful image! I personally use the dryer to do my ironing for me. With all my kids, it only takes about 5 minutes to get more wrinkles.
