Nay Sayers may be Correct.....

Several other creators have always not been very happy with me because I give away so many freebies each day.......their contention is no one will buy if I am giving it all away....well.......they may just be right.
But, I continue to give freebies DAILY, sometimes a couple a day....because there are a group of you out there that truly do appreciate them, and thank me for them, and email me to let me know.....or leave comments....BUT....there are HUGE numbers of you that just snag and run...............and I would be sharing with those people because? ??
So, my options are ..... 1. Make the freebie once a week..... 2. Once a month..... 3. Create a blog for just the people that are appreciative.... 4. Remove the freebies each time a new one is put up..... 5. Admit the nay sayers are correct. ... Because let me tell you.......I give away far far more than I receive.
Thank God for all of you that are appreciative....or this blog would have been gone long ago.
Seriously....have you looked at the number of downloads on an item, and how many comments have been left? It is pathetic.
And I am probably more upset this morning than normal, because I got not one but four emails this morning from people I have never heard of, telling me they can't find a particular freebie they saw and would I email it to them...........LOL..........really.........no hi, how are you...love your blog....just being upset because my site doesn't search well.....
Screaming~!~!!~!

  1. I'm so sorry you are feeling let down. I LOVE your site and store. I have purchased from your store and see more on my "wish list". I intend to buy more sentiments when I get paid. :) I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your freebies, and I thank God for your genorosity. As for freebie options? I'm not sure...but I'd love to read other's opinions/suggestsions. Hope your day gets better. Love ya!

  2. Paulette, I have both purchased and taken advantage of your freebies. I'm truly appreciative of both and do take the time to say Thank You. You do what you have to do for you. I give away freebies on my blog, and I know what you mean about folks not being able to say a simple thank you. My Mama taught me manners, and that included thanking someone for any nice gesture.

  6. i appreciate you. I always leave comments when i take a freebie. I also do my best to credit you when i use a freebie. I also appreciate that you take time out of your busy day to answer emails and to make all these neat sentiments for us.

  7. That is so frustrating. I love your images and sentiments...and even when I DON'T take the freebie I try to comment on it! I have a number of items in your store that I'm just waiting for a little spending $ to buy. While there are some cruddy people out there, remember...we love you and appreciate you! You do whatever you need to do to keep your fabulous blog going!

  8. Some ppl make you feel this way..those ppl do have a nerve to email and ask for something, that is like wow to me. If i see something you are offering and I feel the need to snag it I will leave a comment..because you giving away things out of the kindness of your heart, at least i hope that is the case, lol. But anyway it takes all kinds in this crazy mixed up world we live in. Of course me I would ignore those emails, i mean hey it was free if they didnt take the time to snag it when they saw it, and can't even say thanks for things they did snag, then no way id be emailing them. A freebie a week sounds good to me. Or just give samples of what is in your store, in your freebie u sometimes give 3 papers, cut it down to 1 and have the rest in the store, i'm a Libra so i can on and on with ideas and never settling on one,lol..so im get off here.

  9. I don't blame you for being upset. The world is a very ungrateful place. My mother always taught me to say please and thank you but I guess we are a minority. I appreciate all you give! Thank you! I don't get here everyday but I always look forward to seeing what you have created! xoxoxoxo

  10. Paula, I'm sorry, that you are upset know. I receive all feeds of your blog and became a follower today. I really appreciate your work and I'm glad that you make so much freebies. I have a very low income because I can't work, I have a very bad back and joints and I'm often depressed, even with medication. I'm so glad that we don't have to pay for the digi stamps you offer, because I just can't afford to buy them.

  11. Dear Paulette,
Sorry you are feeling discouraged. I have noticed the disproportionate comment to download ratio. It makes me sad that people can't say a simple thank you. Maybe if people had to work a little harder for their freebies they wouldn't be so grabby ;) I really enjoy the games you sometimes post - especially the one you did when you had to guess the digi from a little piece of it. Keep your chin up! Hugs

  12. OMG! Some people certainly have a lot of nerve (along with no manners)! Sorry you irritated. You have good reason. Thank you again for your generosity. There are many of us out there who do appreciate the gifts you share.

  13. Hi Paulette - sorry this is happening to you & getting you so upset! I guess people have no idea how generous you are! I almost fell off my chair the first time I used your "donate" button and you sent me a "thank you" email and included another freebie! You are incredible, you site is amazing and I for one will support whatever changes you make!
I sincerely hope you continue with your blog!

    Hugs to you!

  14. I'm sorry. I love your site and especially because of the economy the way it is, I can't afford to buy anything right now so I do APPRECIATE your freebies.
Sometimes I think those nay sayers are just GREEDY. You share your passion with all who wish to receive it and all you ask in return is a comment of Thanks! I especially like the examples you give. Please keep the Freebies.

  15. Paulette,

I download your freebies often, and always try to (but sometimes fail) to leave a thank you. I appreciate the quality and quantity of your freebies very much, and they have led me to make some purchases from you as well. I am sorry you are feeling frustrated and discouraged. My suggestion is to do what your heart tells you is right -- in the end it will bless everyone including yourself. I hope your Monday gets better! Sending love and good thoughts to you :)

  16. I am sorry, it has to be so frustrating for you. I can completely understand your feeling on this. I truly do appreciate all that you do, which is a lot!! Whichever you choose to do, I will support you and I hope you are able to come to a decision. I love your work and all the effort you put into what you do :)

  17. Super sorry for the lack of thanks... I just found your site about a week ago and did download a few freebies and then found some really cool digis to buy! Thank goodness too, because I needed a 'real life' squirrel, not a cartoon! I love your stuff and hope to purchase more in the future! Lots of hugs to you and whatever you decide I will keep following your awesome blog! :)

  18. I follow your blog and looks at your wonderful creations - mark them I think I could use one day. If I download dó I leave a comment. If I use the sentiment and blog it, dó I give credit. I really think it is the smallest I can do when I borris an idea og get something free. Thanks for sharing your wonderful and creative work.

  19. Paulette, I'm so sorry this is happening to you again. You are so generous to all of your readers. Perhaps your IT person could fix it to where no download is available until after a comment is left. Unfortunately, many of today's generation don't feel thankful for anything. We've given folks wedding, birthday, shower gifts, with no thanks, and I even have family members we have bought cars and housing for that can't say thanks. Just remember that we love you, my friend! I would definitely cut back on your freebies - that would be less work for you! Hugs, and blessings, my friend!

  20. I'm so sorry that people are so rude not to comment!! I do comment when I take them. There was a stretch of time when I could not access but I emailed you (blogger issues).

I say, it's your blog and your talent, do what YOU would like to do. I appreciate every bit of your generocity!

  21. Perhaps I was knocked off of you r buddy list -not sure since i don't see it - I did at one 'follow you". I get your e-mails and truly love to see what you and others create. I have never asked for a goodie or gotten a download. I don't always leave a comment on a daily basis BUT I love the inspiration. I wish i could order.. Sorry so many are discouraging but I do love your site. Doris

  22. I have also downloaded your freebies, and have tried to leave a comment every time I do. I have told people your website when I use one on a card and they want to know where I got it. I suggest you follow your heart to do the right thing.

  23. I appreciate your freebies, although I am guilty of not commenting. I am on a $0 budget for scrapping and card making and I am always looking for free anything to still be able to continue my hobby. If it weren't for giving and generous people like you, I would have to give it up for lack of material. Thank You for being generous! I pray that God will bless you for it!

  25. So sorry that you are upset but you sure do have a point there but please don't give up. You make so many people so very happy!!!!!
Sometimes I take a freebie - only when I know for sure I will use it on a creation and not to collect them!- and sometimes I write a comment but maybe not as often as you deserve for which I do apologize Paulette.

  26. Paulette,
I apologize....I am one who hasn't offered up as many thank you's as I should have. I don't have an account with the download site -- and I didn't want to sign up to get one -- and I've been very lax on coming back to your site to tell you thank you.
However, I LOVE your freebies -- especially the sentiments -- and I joined the August club. I appreciate all your talents that you've shared with us and I've tried to share my creations where I've used your digis. And, to let others know about your site and all the fabulousness that is here.
I'm sorry that some people feel the need to complain -- both about not being able to find something (the nerve!) and designers who are upset that you give freebies away.
Hope your day gets better -- sending joy to you,
    Sharon

  29. I'm guilty of not leaving a message for every single goodie I download but I do from time to time. I just thought you would get tired of me saying the same thing over and over. But if you don't mind the same thing, i will try to do better. Boy a lot of your freebies really make me laugh and I would be so disappointed to just see them every once in awhile. Can't blame you for feeling the way you do tho. You put in a lot of hard work to come up with such wonderful sentiments and such.

  30. Hi Paulette
I'm so sorry for how you feel. I really appreciate being a follower of your blog and I love seeing all the lovely card creations. I really appreciate your freebies and have had a few of them. I am not sure whether my feedback always registers as I haven't got a blog myself. I hope that reading all these comments will help you realise how much you are appreciated. Caz UK

It is such a pleasure to visit your blog, and the freebies are a fabulous bonus.
All the creativity and inspiration and love that is shared here is so special.
    We all love you!

  32. Paulette, I am so sorry for the rude behavior of some, and I just want you to know I think you are fabulous. I have told several friends about your site, and explained the importance of thanking you,(and other sites)for the freebies they receive. You have the BEST site that I have found, and you are so generous, which in this economy is a blessing. Thank you for all you are, all you do, and for using your talents. May God bless you.

  33. The "nay sayers" are jealous, that's all...easy to ignore. And you know I totally agree with you...far too many people are far too unappreciative! I think downgrading to one freebie every other day would be a smart change :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. So sorry to hear that so many people don't leave a comment on your freebies. I love them and when I take one I always comment. You give more than I can use, so maybe that's the reason I don't buy very often in your store, so I think it's time to donate to your tip jar again.
I'm sure a lot of people love the things you give away very very very much. I do for sure.
    Thanks a lot!

  38. I'm guilty of snagging and not always leaving a comment. One of the reasons is that Blogger is weird sometimes and comes up "Anonymous" asking me to log in and over and over again. What a pain. Anyway I do snag the ones I think I might like but certainly not everyday. I apologize for that but I think the bottom line is that if you are not okay with people snagging and not commenting you do what you feel is necessary. On my blog I look at comments as talking to girlfriends. Sometimes I "talk" to a lot of friends in a day and sometimes very few. Just my opinion but I would like to say thanks for the quotes I've snagged and another thanks for all those that have snag and don't leave a comment.

  39. Hi Paulette-

I am so sorry that there are individuals out there that take advantage and are not courteous. It never ceases to amaze me at what people will do - ie an email demanding a past freebie with out taking two seconds to say hello!

I love the artwork that you provide. The sentiments enhance my cards or start a new creativity. I do however support you in whatever you decide and appreciate what has been received in the past.

    Thank you-

  40. I love your freebies and appreciate all you do. Speaking as someone who doesnt have a job and lives on her husbands va check I depend on you and a couple of others like you who share their wonderful creations for free. I would have had to stop long ago making cards if it wasnt for you. I will understand if you cut back, has to be so much work. Can I always find a freebie I see? Nope, but I scroll and scroll, till I do or I find something else to use lol. Thanks for all you do!!

  41. So sad, but so true!
I've actually asked a friend who blogs if she had snagged your latest freebie (this was a few weeks ago) and left a comment....her answer?....you have to leave a comment?!
She reads everything in a reader, and I suspect a lot of others do, too....or am I wrong?
Do what you think is right, sweetie.....but I will always appreciate your talent and generosity. hugs x

  42. I've noticed, too, what a small percentage of those who download a freebie actually take the time to leave a comment. Pretty sad! It only takes another minute or two to leave a comment.

I, for one, would really miss your freebies! I look forward to them so much and truly appreciate your sharing. The budget is tight so I can't always buy all the things I'd like to have; freebies are a BIG help! I do have a rather lengthy wishlist for your store offerings & hope to be able to get some of those things soon. Meanwhile, I am so grateful to have the freebies to use.

I do understand your frustration, though, and support whatever decision you make regards to sharing freebies. I thank you for each image, word art, and paper I've already gotten, too, Paulette!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I try to say thank you but am also guilty of not always leaving a thank you. Sometimes the phone has been ringing, the 10 year old needed attention, a knock on the door... But I didn't come back later to show appreciation and that makes me guilty of being a snag and runner. I can't go back but if I don't have time to show appreciation as I download I'll put the downloading off until I can say thank you. Thank you Paulette for being a giving person!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I really understand how you are feeling. sorry it has come to that! I do try to leave a comment even when I don't download somehthing. After all you have put a lot of work into this. THANKS. I will respect whatever decission you make. Hugs...

  45. People really can be so rude, and only focused on what they can get out of a site...without actually thinking that it is the designer, a person, who is doing it all for them!

I cannot stand people like that...it is one of my biggest pet peeves of all time.

Please don't let them get you down, I hope there are more GOOD people out there than the bad.

You do a wonderful job with your designs and it is appreciated. All of those types of people can go fly a kite!

I bet there is even some WA for people like that here, LOL!!

  46. Paulette, you know how grateful I am for your freebies and I thank you for each one I take and also for the extras that you email to us too. I cannot believe people are so rude as to try and tell you what to do with your freebies, it is surely nothing to do with other stores what you do with yours...

I know a lot of people including myself subscribe using an RSS feed and yes it is all to easy to click and run but it doesn't take that much longer to click into your post and say thank you, I am sorry many people don't and can certainly appreciate that it must upset you.

As for the people who have sent you an email as they can't find what they want, I am incredulous that they would do this and if they read your post I hope they feel very ashamed of themselves and their behaviour. Unfortunately some people are very selfish :(

Big hugs to you sweetheart and I hope the thanks and support you have had from us will help you feel a bit better :)

    Lots of love Mandy xxx

  50. I am so very sorry Paulette. That angers me that they wouldn't even be polite enough to ask how you are doing or mention how appreciative they are. More than likely they are that way with everyone - not just you. NO consolation to their behavior as you definitely do not deserve to be treated that way. I am grateful for the freebies as my sentiment bank just isn't there sometimes. :) Love ya chica! Thanks a million for all you do.

I support you 100% on whatever decision you make. Please note that us small few feel your frustration over the "snaggers." I believe you have to do what is best for you. 55. I truly do apreciate your generous freebies. I have also purchased some of your products in the past. My problem is that I do NOT facebook, tweet, twitter, Google account etc, so sometimes it can be frustrating to leave a comment, just to not have it show up. However, rest assured, I love the freebies and would miss then. Just don't let the rude people get you down, for that would mean they "win". You're too nice a person for that

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hi Paulette: My heart sank when I saw this mail - because again you are left feeling disappointed in other people and downtrodden for doing something out of the goodness of your own heart. If you choose to give freebies, it is no business of anyone, except you. They have no right to tell you how to run your business, your blog, or to cap your generosity. Do they feel threatened? If so, that is their response, not your doing.
    1. Make the freebie once a week..... 2. Once a month..... 3. Create a blog for just the people that are appreciative.... 4. Remove the freebies each time a new one is put up..... 5. Admit the nay sayers are correct. ... Because let me tell you.......I give away far far more than I receive.

If you decided to change the freebies to weekly, monthly, create an appreciation blog, or to remove freebies when new ones are posted, that is your decision. Those of us who are appreciative of your efforts and talents will always be appreciative and follow you. Those who don't like the changes will probably leave. And the nay sayers will never be correct.
    hugs and blessings,
    Pauline

  57. I'm sorry that people who have written were ungrateful for the gifts you have given. I have to say I have been at fault for not taking the time to sit down and send you a word of thanks for the freebies you have posted. ReplyDelete
  58. Is there a way to have to "sign in" on your blog in order to get the freebies? Just thinking out loud. I know I sometimes snag and run and don't comment...I'm sorry for that, but I DO appreciate you!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Wow...This is more comments than i've seen here in a long time.

Paulette- Follow your heart. There will always be people complaining in this world, no matter how many things they are given. And there will also always be a few who have the grace and manners to say thank you.

  62. Paulette, It never ceases to amaze me the way people behave. Personally, I blame the government. :) Our forefathers fought for relief from taxation without representation. How we got to tax 'em til death with represatation is beyond me. I could go on...

I appreciate all you do. With our finances being what they are, I haven't been able to donate. I do try to thank you every time I grab something. However, I'm sure once in a while I forget. (I'll blame the painkillers I take when I do something stupid to my poor body.)

I hope you get more thanks from people. Maybe I'll have to start making multiple entries on each post! :D

Thank you, Paulette, for all you give us.

  66. hey Paulette, I apologize if I don't say thank you enough as I surely do appreciate all of your work and generosity and I will try to express my gratitude more often... I have also sent emails telling you how appreciated you are and how generous you are. I know I am not one that you are talking about but I must say, have you noticed how many comments there are on this one? Wonder why there aren't this many on all the other freebies. Anyway, you do what you feel is right and I for one will support you on your decision and although I haven't purchased alot of your images (maybe about 10-12) I love them and will continue to purchase when I can. Hugs and Blessings to you for all you so selflessly share and I promise to do better next time .

  71. I am so sorry. I don't always say thank you. But I LOVE your things. I do download some of them. I just wanted to let you know that I do appreciate all that you share!
Hope your day is better tomorrow.

  73. In my email I forgot to say something about other WA artists who may not be happy with you...that's the great thing about being an artist in the USA...you can do what YOU want. I think they are probably jealous and feel threatened by your popularity. I'll follow your blog no matter what you do, Paulette. I love to see your creativity and the things that folks do with your images and sentiments. It comes down to you need to do what your heart tells you!
Seriously hope that the day got MUCH better!!

  74. I am sorry you are feeling unappreciated, but I totally understand how annoying it is when people do not show their appreciation for your generosity and for all the awesome gifts you give us all. Whatever decision you make for the future will be good, just do what you feel is right for yourself :) Cheers from Scotland.

  75. I know what you mean Paulette - that is why I closed my own blog down in the end ... i couldn't deal with the selfishness.
I have made a point of purchasing from you as a thank you for all you freebies and generosity. Whenever I visit your blog I leave a comment.
    Congratulations on the 1300 followers!

  76. I'm sorry that so many people are snagging and running! I always thank first, then download, so I won't forget. Thank you for all the wonderful freebies you share with us.

    Big Hugs,

  77. Well Paulette I'm not surprised that you're feeling pretty peeved to say the least. You have been so ultra generous with your wonderful freebies that if people can't take a couple of minutes to leave a thank you then perhaps you should think about limiting the amount you give. You have such a wonderful talent and always make me laugh with your witty sayings and pictures. I know you'll do whatever you feel most comfortable with but hopefully you won't give up altogether as you would be sorely missed.

    Hugs.

  78. Doesn't take 5 seconds to type "Thanks", so I can only assume that these people who snag and run are just rude! Sadly it seems to be more and more common place these days :(

  79. I'm coming to this post late, but here are my two cents anyway. I love and enjoy the work you do, and leave comments as often as I can (and certainly if I grab a freebie)! However, your freebies have made me curious and made me buy items from the store. I can't say that about other blogs with freebies.

    BIG HUGS!!!

  80. Oh Paulette, I haven't been by in a few days and am only just catching up on what has been going on. You know I love your site and want to say thank you for your talent and for sharing it with us on an ongoing basis.

  81. Paulette I am setting here with my eyes closed and sending all the love I can.

There are some really nasty rude people in the world, but you just can't let them drag you down with them. Just know that you do have people out here in digi stamp land who do appreciate you and your wonderful talent.

The saying "What goes around comes around" is so true.

I really enjoy your site and your work. Besides if we didn't have you how would we know what to celebrate everyday.

I really have to quote two of your freebies.
    1. "When life's demands start to get you down, just stick out your tongue and make a silly face".
    2. "Smile it's free therapy".

  82. (((Hugs))) Paulette.
I don't know what to say other than I know you work so hard and are so generous with this blog, and it makes me sad that you feel so unappreciated. :(
I comment on every freebie (whether I download it or not), every store advertisement, and every creation... I'm SURE you are sick of my name LOL!!
My point is... Each time you have seen my name pop up I personally have appreciated what you do everyday. Every time someone DOES comment they have thought about YOU, and taken the time to write something to you, personally, in appreciation of something that you've made. That's pretty awesome when you take each comment as an individual person personally thanking you!
There are loads of rude inconsiderate people out there. But good sincere people should focus on what other good sincere people think of them - and for you Paulette, that's obviously a lot!
(((((((hugs)))))) again and hope you are feeling better today. xox

  83. I, as well love your website and have purchased from it. Please don't let it go because of some bad eggs. We're love your too much.

  84. I have been out of town for almost a week, and am just catching up. Know that those of us who love your blog and you and love what you do, appreciate you more than we can say! I can imagine how frustrating it is. I hope the 48 hour solution will help alleviate some of that for you!

  85. I just have to say that you are so incredibly generous and I appreciate it beyond words! Your wonderful sentiments are always perfect for a project Im working on, or I can see them for a future project. They always work with my images and my style! I thank you a million times!! Now, I'll hang my head in shame, because I'm not perfect, but I do try to comment every time I grab a freebie, but I know there have been times when I haven't - I will be better :)
Hugs to you and Thank You for an awesome blog, amazing freebies, inspiration and for always bringing a smile to my day :)

  86. I love your site. I don't always take the freebies as some don't fit my style, BUT I do grab the ones that do. I have also purchased the ones I really like. BUT you have to do what is right for you. So what ever your decision,I will applaude you. Thanks again

  87. even though I am more lurker than commentor, when I do comment, i am always very appreciative. I am sorry i do not comment more often. As I have stated in the past, I usually come here once in a while and then spend hours here looking and some D/Ling. I love all your stuff. I am grateful for you and all the work you put into this blog and your generous sharing.
I am guilty of not thanking you often enough, but I would never ask to have something sent to me...that is just nervy!
When you have some free time, I'd love to hear about this club you are creating.
    Hugs,
    Susan
